When I first set out on "the whitehorse project" in the winter of 2005, I had in mind to do a series documenting the fast-encroaching hallmarks of globalization on the town - my contact sheets are full of gleefully hideous shots of Starbucks, Boston Pizza et al. (some of which may yet make an appearance.)
In the spring 2006, I spent some time in the burgeoning subdivision of copper ridge. Not to pick on it unduly, but what do these people have against trees? Here are a few of the images that emerged. For me, they bring to mind that Bruce Cockburn lyric "the trouble with normal is it always gets worse".
